Our approach

Evidence first. Capital follows.

A staged program where each gate removes a specific risk — and investment grows only as the evidence does.

01 · Principle

“Metallurgy drives the timeline, not drilling.”

Many rare earth projects spend tens of millions defining large resources before discovering poor recoveries, radioactive impurities or expensive processing. We invert that order: the kill-factor test comes first, and capital scales with evidence.

02 · Three gates

Each gate removes a specific risk.

Not just more work — the right work, in the right order. Investment at each stage is sized to what the previous one proved.

I
DISCOVERY & VALIDATION12–18 MONTHS

“Is this real and worth pursuing?”

Prove the rare earth system exists, mineralisation is continuous and metallurgy is not fatal. The highest-risk stage — so it is designed to fail fast and cheap.

KEY OUTPUTS
  • Geophysics, mapping and first drilling
  • Mineralogy and bench-scale metallurgy
  • Exploration target and drill vectors
II
RESOURCE & ECONOMIC POTENTIAL18–24 MONTHS

“Could this become economic?”

Demonstrate scale, continuity and recoverability, and take a first serious look at the economics.

KEY OUTPUTS
  • Maiden NI 43-101 / JORC resource
  • Pilot-scale metallurgy
  • Preliminary economic assessment
III
DEVELOPMENT READINESS24–36 MONTHS

“Can this become bankable and buildable?”

Produce a financeable, permitted, offtake-anchored project ready for a final investment decision.

KEY OUTPUTS
  • Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies
  • Pilot plant and offtake samples
  • Environmental approval and permits
03 · The first gate

Four things Stage I must prove.

Without all four, the project does not advance and capital does not scale.

01

Geological continuity

A coherent mineralised system with repeatability, defined structure and a clear indication of scale — not isolated anomalies.

02

Mineralogical understanding

Host mineral, liberation, radioactive risk, weathering profile and ionic-adsorption potential all defined.

03 · BIGGEST KILL FACTOR

Metallurgical signal

Preliminary recoveries, acceptable impurities and a realistic processing pathway. The single biggest project killer.

04

Drill confirmation

First meaningful intercepts, evidence of continuity and a clear vector for follow-up drilling.

04 · Workstreams

Six disciplines, one program.

Delivered with established specialist firms in each jurisdiction, selected through competitive tender and managed by RARE53.

Drilling

Scout, resource, infill and geotechnical programs.

Geophysics & remote sensing

Airborne magnetics, radiometrics and hyperspectral targeting.

Exploration & geology

Mapping, sampling, logging and 3D geological models.

Metallurgy & labs

Full rare earth assays, mineralogy, bench and pilot testing.

Resource & economic studies

Independent resource estimates, PEA, pre-feasibility and feasibility.

Permits, legal & ESG

Title, permits, water rights, baselines and community agreements.

05 · Responsibility

Responsible from day one.

Baselines before drilling

Environmental and water baselines are part of Stage I, not an afterthought.

Communities in the loop

Early, ongoing engagement with local communities and authorities.

Reporting to global standards

Resources reported under NI 43-101 or JORC by independent qualified persons.
